Josh Richardson, Assistant Principal

Josh Richardson, Assistant Principal

Josh Richardson was born and raised in southeastern Louisiana, near New Orleans, making him a big fan of Cajun/Creole food, and of course, the New Orleans Saints.

After receiving his degree in secondary education from Louisiana State University, he taught for a year and a half in Baton Rouge, where he learned a great deal about poverty and the challenges it presents in an educational setting. After he married, he moved with his wife to Fort Worth to help care for his ailing mother-in-law, and began teaching in Keller ISD where he worked for thirteen years.

He taught AP psychology, sociology, and economics at Fossil Ridge High School for nearly a decade. There, he honed his skills in affecting school culture and environment, and loved working with such a diverse student population. He received his Master’s in educational leadership from UNT, and is excited to be in Irving as an assistant principal at Crockett Middle.

Mr. Richardson loves to cook, especially Louisiana fare. He is an avid guitarist, and travels with his family every chance he gets. He is also a published novelist. He loves kids and feels privileged to be able to contribute to the well-being of the surrounding community.
