Baseball Coaches Share Special Bond in Rare Match-Up 45 Years in the Making
When the Irving High baseball team faced off against Lewisville, the exchange at home plate before the start of the game was more special than normal -- both father and son said "good luck," but also "I love you." In his first year as head baseball coach at Irving, Stephen Campbell had the opportunity to face off against his dad – 45-year coach Mike Campbell at Lewisville.

Retired Teachers Provide Scholarships to Future Teachers
Every year, the Irving Retired School Personnel Association (IRSPA) provides four Irving ISD seniors who plan to pursue education as a career $500 scholarships. Congratulations to this year’s recipients: Arlene Aguilar of MacArthur High School, Tatum Griffin of Nimitz High School, and Brandy Escobar and Dixie Morris of Irving High School.

Three Irving ISD Schools Receive Makeovers
Three Irving ISD schools received makeovers on March 30 through a partnership with Parents Step Ahead, Nissan Partners and the district’s Parent and Family Engagement Department. Thomas Haley Elementary, Travis Middle School and Singley Academy were selected for $4,000 grants to purchase supplies to revamp their campuses. Students, staff and family members from each school volunteered their time and efforts to these makeover projects as part of a Family Day celebration.
