Joe Estrada, Principal
This year will mark my 17th year in education. I began my career in Houston ISD as a special education resource teacher. I also worked 10 years in Dallas ISD where I served as a sixth-grade math teacher, assistant principal, principal, and as a coordinator in the Office of School Leadership. Most recently, I served as the principal at Farine Elementary here in Irving ISD for more than 3 years.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, and my master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. I am also a product of Irving ISD so it is truly an honor to serve in the same community that I grew up in. I was a Townley Torchlighter, Bowie Cub, and a Nimitz Viking.
I am excited about the opportunity to join the team here at Keyes Elementary. I’m looking forward to partnering with the staff and community to grow every one of our Tiger Cubs. This is a great school that serves a great community, and we are going to continue doing amazing things at Keyes.

Her educational background consists of obtaining her bachelor’s in bilingual education from the New Mexico State University . Her graduate studies were at the Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Tx, where she obtained a master’s in educational administration.
Her future aspirations are to continue my education and pursue a doctorate. She continues to pursue life-long learning to best serve Keyes students.
