  • Mary Kay Dixon, Principal

Mary Kay Dixon is passionate about education and Irving ISD.   She graduated from Irving High School as well as her parents, husband, and both sons. It was in a fifth-grade classroom at Schulze Elementary where she wrote a research paper about being a teacher and she first felt that she wanted to follow in her grandmother’s and mother’s footsteps to be a teacher. She is proud to say that she is a third generation Irving ISD educator.

She graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education. Much later in her teaching career she decided that she wanted to pursue an administrative position and returned to Texas Woman’s University for completion of Principal Certificate.

She was passionate about completing her student teaching in Irving ISD with an assignment to teach second grade at Barton Elementary. This just so happened to be the same school which she attended first, second, and third grade and her mother previously taught fourth grade. She was so excited to return to Barton for a second-grade teaching position for 17 years.  While at Barton she began taking on leadership responsibility by being second grade lead teacher and vertical team leader.  For the next nine years she served at Brandenburg Elementary as lead special education teacher, intervention teacher, center manager for 21st Century Learning Center, and instructional specialist before moving into the assistant principal position. She was assistant principal at the Wheeler Transitional Development Center for four years before moving to Nimitz High School where she served for six years with one year as assistant principal and five years as associate principal.  She is excited to serve as the principal of Stipes Elementary this year!

    Carlos Ramirez, Assistant Principal

Carlos Ramirez Moye is entering his eighteenth year in education and is thrilled to begin his journey at Stipes Elementary School.  He brings with him 10 years of experience in the classroom, 5 years of specialized academic instruction, 1 year of high school guitar instruction and an additional year as an Administrator at De Zavala Middle School.

He is a father of a dancer, 12 yr old, Carlos Eduardo Ramírez-Holguín, and a warrior, 9 yr old, Emma Carolina Ramirez-Holguín. His wife is a language acquisition specialist for Coppell ISD.

Carlos graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor's and master’s degree in Guitar Music Performance. Although spending time with his family is his most valuable treasure, he really enjoys connecting with people and families, and never shies away from a good carne asada!

    Michelle Ramirez, Assistant Principal

Ms. Ramirez is honored and excited to serve Stipes Elementary as Assistant Principal! She is an Irving ISD graduate and knew exactly what district she wanted to teach in after graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington.

She started as a Pre-K bilingual teacher at Pierce Early Childhood School. Since then, she received her Master’s in Library Science from the University of North Texas, as well as her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. She has served as a Librarian, Instructional Technology Specialist, and as a two-way Dual Language and GT teacher at T. J. Lee Elementary.

Ms. Ramirez embraces the need to build strong and meaningful relationships with all students, teachers, and parents. She looks forward to working with the exceptional and dedicated Stipes staff and community to build a positive climate where every child can reach their full potential!
