Administrator Bios

  • Denise Anderson, Principal

    Denise Anderson has served the students of Irving ISD, since 2010. She has lead in many roles including a teacher at Bowie Middle School, dean of students and assistant principal at Lamar Middle School prior to becoming the principal at Travis Middle School.


    Anderson began her career in education in 2000 after completing her degree in elementary education from Southern University at New Orleans. She began as an elementary teacher in Orleans Parish School District in New Orleans. In 2005, she relocated to Cypress Fairbanks ISD in the Houston area. While in Cypress Fairbanks ISD she completed a master’s degree in educational administration at Prairie View A&M University.


    When asked about her position at Travis Middle School she responded, “I am excited and honored to join Travis Middle School.” “I look forward to working collaboratively with students, staff, parents and the community.”

  • Christopher Henderson, Assistant Principal

    Mr. Henderson received his bachelor’s degree from Xavier University of New Orleans. He taught in New Orleans Public Schools for 4 years until Hurricane Katrina. After relocating to the Irving area with his family, he worked in hotel management in the DFW area for several years.  Fortunately, the love of teaching and impacting the lives of children called him back to the education profession.  In 2008, he began his career as an Educator with the Irving ISD family as a Special Education teacher at the Wheeler Transitional Center.

    He received his Masters and Principal Certification from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2016, then joined the Lamar Middle School team as the Dean of Students.  In the 2017-18 school year, he served as the Lamar Administrative liaison/6th Grade Assistant Principal. He joined the Bobcat family in 2018 as the Assistant Principal.

  • Kassie Price, Assistant Principal  

    Kassie Price grew up in Irving and attended school at Elliott and Lamar, before graduating from Nimitz High School. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington. 

    While teaching, she earned her Masters Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in Curriculum and Instruction and later her Principal Certification from Lamar University.  

    This year marks Mrs. Price’s nineteenth year with Irving ISD. She has served as an inclusion aide, classroom teacher, Instructional Technology Specialist, Dean of Students, the Administrative Liaison, and is currently the Assistant Principal.

    Mrs. Price strives to positively impact student learning by connecting students, parents, and teachers.
